Rafting the Vorderrhein expedition style
Expedition-style rafting tour with overnight camping in the Rhine Gorge.
This trip is something absolutely special! You will spend the night together with our guides in a camp on the rivershore right in the romantic Rhine Gorge. Just like on a rafting expedition, we will take the entire equipment and gear, as well as the food, in waterproof packings on our rafts! You have never slept outdoors? No worries – our guides are specialists and will make outdoor life as comfortable for you as possible – so be surprised, for example by our extensive menues for dinner and breakfast! Other than a sleeping bag you will not need any specialised camping equipment – we will take care of everything for you.
Availability:
Mid-May until end of September, on request for groups of six or more persons.

To bring:
Attention, we take the entire equipment on our rafts – so please limit personal belongings to a minimum.
- Sleeping bag
- Outdoor suitable clothing for the evening according to weather conditions
- Personal necessities (tooth brush etc.)
- Torch/headlamp
- Towel
- Bathing clothes
- Backpack or bag for the tranport of your belongings
- If needed: sports band for your glasses, sun lotion
- Depending on the weather we advice you to bring additional synthetic sports underwear for better protection (no cotton).
- Good attitude and a sense of adventure!
Trip procedure:
We will meet you around midday at the train station Ilanz. After a short shuttle you will be welcomed by our guides at our base. Here you will be given a welcome apéro as well as detailed information about the trip. Afterwards your gear will be packed waterproof and tied on our rafts. After putting on the rafting equipment you will receive a safety talk and paddle instructions at our put in – ready to go!
Your rafting trip will lead you through the impressive Rhine Gorge. Steep chalk walls and high rock towers loom on both sides of the river; in between some fun rapids. We will stop half way just below Versam in order to set up camp on the rivershore and start the fire. There will be enough time for activities such as short hikes to explore the Rhine Gorge and unforgettable camp atmosphere around the warming fire. In the evening, our guides will cook you a substantial dinner, in the morning a comprehensive breakfast will await you – drinks included.
After breakfast we will pack up camp before returning onto the rafts. Our trip ends in Reichenau, just above the confluence of the Vorder- and the Hinterrhein. Your dry clothes as well as a Happy Landing Apéro await you at our take out.
